one might say the Erythema rash is indicative of early Lyme, but multiple rashes are not from multiple tick bites. They are from the systemic redistribution of Borrelia through the circulation snd back into other areas of the skin. In other words multiple rashes means LATE STAGE systemic Lyme disease

In the early days of Lyme disease, many researchers sought to divide Lyme disease into stages like Primary Syphilis, Secondary Syphilis and Tertiary Syphilis. The problem was in 1989 studies in beagles using radioactive Iodine tagged to albumin, showed that the infection could enter the dogs brain within days of tick bite. In humans this can happen asymptomatically. So how do you know when you are bitten and have a rash if you are in "Early Stage" ? You can't know. You may already have a systemic infection and in time it will manifest as neurological Late Lyme or perhaps dementia? So staging Lyme disease is not only useless, it can be harmful as many physicians have unwisely chosen to treat tick bites with just a single dose of doxycycline. Also one might say the Erythema rash is indicative of early Lyme, but multiple rashes are not from multiple tick bites. They are from the systemic redistribution of Borrelia through the circulation snd back into other areas of the skin. In other words multiple rashes means LATE STAGE systemic Lyme disease
